Just because it is fall doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy iced coffee. This pumpkin cold foam cold brew is sweet, creamy, and magically autumn! Thick and creamy, the quick and easy pumpkin sweet foam that tops this black iced coffee is the absolute best! Who cares if there is a chill outside, that’s what sweaters are for! Skip the Starbucks line and enjoy a fall inspired iced coffee right at home.
Cold Brew
One thing I love about this recipe is that it uses everything I already have in the fridge and pantry, so I can make a batch without a visit to my nearest grocer. The base of this is obviously the coffee. Cold brew to be precise. What is all the rage about cold brew coffee, though? Well, because it is made with no heat, it actually taste stronger and more intense than traditionally brewed coffee, but with less caffeine.
You can be super fancy and make cold brew at home, or, you can cheat and buy a big bottle or even a shelf stable bottle of concentrate. I love Chameleon Organic Coffee, but use whatever you prefer. Pour 1 cup (8oz) per serving of your favorite cold brew (I used black) over a mug, jar, or glass of ice. To that, I love to add my own flavoring! I am addicted to Jenny’s Skinny Mixes. 0 calories, 0 carbs, 0 sugar, tons of flavor to drink from coffee to cocktails! I used their Pumpkin Caramel Scone flavor just to be on theme, but trust me, you cant go wrong. Just 1 tbsp per cup of this goes a long way. And remember, the cold foam is sweet, so no need to go crazy!
Pumpkin Cold Foam
Trust me, cold brew coffee with a hint of flavored syrup is fine by me! Especially when I am trying to cut calories. But it’s the first week of fall, toss those beach bodies to the side! Let’s indulge a little as we finally shake off that awful summer heat. And to do that, we make cold foam!
The best this about this cold foam is you don’t need any fancy equipment. No nitrogen cartridges, no frothers, just a blender or a whisk + ambition. I used a small Nutribullet for this, but a bowl and a whisk still do the trick. To my blender, I added:
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 1/4 cup of sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Whisk or blend this mixture until it becomes well combined and frothy. If using a blender, you only need a few pulses! Anything more than that will result in pumpkin whipped cream– not a bad idea AT ALL!, just not quite what we need for this drink.
Pour your creamy foam over your cold brew. Let it naturally seep into the coffee, or give it a quick stir and enjoy! The weather may be changing, but let’s hold on to our iced coffee addictions just a bit longer! This pumpkin cold foam cold brew is sweet, creamy, and all of the things we love about fall (AKA, permission to use pumpkin spice!).
