White Christmas Margarita

White Christmas Margarita

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Day 2 of my 5 days of holiday cocktails brings us a white Christmas margarita. Bring some cheer to the holidays with this snow white margarita. It is a spin on the classic marg with notes of coconut. Tart, rich, and slightly tropical, this margarita will be a hit at the next holiday party.

Now I love a good marg. I can’t go to a Mexican restaurant without ordering a margarita pitcher, so I thought, why not include one in my 5 days of holiday cocktails. But of course nothing about a classic margarita screams “festive” so I switched it up and made it winter white! A fun and tasty way to bring on the holiday cheer.

Cocktails for a Crowd

The best thing about the holidays is getting together with friends and family and making memories with loved ones. No better way to do that than with a spread of good food and even better drinks. That is why I made this recipe for a crowd. Wash down that Christmas ham with a cool refreshing cocktail. Or open your gifts while enjoying a nice libation. After all, is 5 o’clock somewhere, right?

Making large batches of cocktails is so simple. All you need is something to serve it in, like a punch bowl or pitcher, and to know the ratios of ingredients. And if a recipe doesn’t list ratios, just take a look at the measurements. If a recipe yields 2 servings, just multiply the measurements to yield the number you plan to serve (ex. to serve 6, multiply everything by 3).

White Christmas Margarita

Making this white Christmas margarita is so simple! In a large pitcher add 2 cups of unsweetened coconut milk. You’ll want to add the kind in a can, not the dairy section. Shake vigorously before opening the can, as coconut milk tends to separate into solids and liquid. To the coconut milk, add 1 cup of coconut water, 6 oz of triple sec (or grand marnier), 9 oz of silver tequila. Squeeze in 1/2 cup of fresh lime juice, and 2 tbsp of simple syrup. Stir to combine and add 2 cups of ice.

Rim your margarita glasses with a lime wedge and roll in 2 tbsp of salt (or sanding sugar). Fill with ice and strain the margarita into each glass. Garnish with fresh cranberries and serve immediately!

Alternatively, if you plan on having a self-serving crowd, you can freeze 1/2 cup of coconut milk and 1/2 cup of coconut water into ice cubes. Add the ice cubes to the pitcher instead of water ice cubes, so the pitcher can stay out longer without getting diluted with water.
