Football season is upon us, which means tailgating, watch parties, and lots of apps! And my go-to quick and easy app are these delicious Bisquick Sausage Balls. With only 4 easy ingredients, these cheesy, meaty finger foods are just what you need to get any Fall gathering going. So easy even the kids can make these, they are perfect for dipping, but be careful! You may need a double batch, these little guys will be gone in a snap.
Bisquick Sausage Balls
Aside from combining all of my favorite breakfast items in one (sausage, biscuits, and cheese), I love these little appetizers because they are almost no fuss! Like I mentioned before, it starts with only 4 simple ingredients!
- 1lb ground breakfast sausage (sweet, mild, or hot)
- 8oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups Bisquick (or your preferred biscuit mix)
In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer with a paddle attachment, mix all of your ingredients until fully combined. Using a large melon baller, a small ice cream scoop, or a tablespoon, scoop out 36-40 portions of the mixture, rolling in into balls slightly smaller than the size of a golf ball (they will shrink a bit).
Place the balls on 1-2 lined baking sheets, leaving at least 1½ inches between each ball, and bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes or until the sausage is cooked through and they turn golden brown.
I Dip, You Dip, We Dip!
Now trust me, these Bisquick sausage balls are delicious on their own! I can pop 4-5 in my mouth without even thinking about it. But, if you want to take it to the next level, let’s dip them! The great thing about these is they go well with just about any dip you can think of:
- Melted Queso
- Beer Cheese
- Sriracha Ketchup
- Sweet Hickory Barbecue Sauce
- Cilantro Lime Ranch
- Sweet Thai Chili Sauce
- Honey Mustard
- Hollandaise (play up those breakfast ingredients!)
Whether you dip or not, these Bisquick sausage balls will be sure to capture your heart, and your tongue. They are the perfect, low fuss, big flavor snack for those lazy weekends, big holiday gatherings, and of course, finger-food-football season! Cheesy, moist, and full of meaty sausage, this might be your new go-to appetizer!
