Maple Sage Breakfast Sausage

- 1 lb pork sausage chilled
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp ground sage
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
In a mixing bowl, combine pork, maple syrup, and all of the seasonings.
Form the pork into 8 round patties. I used a 2½ inch biscuit cutter as a ring mold to make sure they were perfectly round
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook each patty for 3-4 minutes per site until browned and caramelized on each side.
Serve immediately.
